I heard about this a while back and immediately thought about how neat it would be to participate AND open it up to all you writer peeps.
So, let's jump right in with the deets, shall we? The A-Z Blogging Challenge is sponsored by the blog Tossing it Out by Arlee Bird. As of now (3/11), there are well over 900 blogs signed up to participate. Lawdy! I
How does the Challenge work?
The premise of the Blogging From A to Z April Challenge is to post something on your blog every day in April except for Sundays (we'll have to throw in one Sunday to fit them all in). In doing this you will have 26 blog posts--one for each letter of the alphabet. Each day you will theme your post according to a letter of the alphabet.
You will only be limited by your own imagination in this challenge. There is an unlimited universe of possibilities. You can post essays, short pieces of fiction, poetry, recipes, travel sketches, or anything else you would like to write about. You don't have to be a writer to do this. You can post photos, including samples of your own art or craftwork. Everyone who blogs can post from A to Z.
****
The cool thing here is that you're completely in charge of what to post for YOUR particular day and letter. The only thing I ask is that you keep it of a reasonable length. People's minds start to wander if things are over 500 words. And PLEASE keep it PG. I do have some younger readers, so withhold the swearing and nudity.
I figure this will be another way to showcase some lovely writers, whether you're published or un-published. Just like the March author series, I'll let everyone choose a letter/date first come, first serve and will keep the schedule listed here. Before your due date, please send your post to:
mystiparker@yahoo.com
Include a short bio (45-100 words), profile pic, book cover(s) if you have any, and any links where readers can find you.
Here's the schedule. To sign up, choose a date/letter and comment with your 1st choice. I'll assign each one first come, first serve:
April 1 (A)--Georgianna Grant
April 2 (B)--BC Sirrom
April 3 (C)--Chrystalla Thoma
April 4 (D)--LM Fields
April 5 (E)--Yvonne Rupert

ReplyDeleteYou got it!
DeleteHi great idea I will take N
ReplyDeleteYeppers.
DeleteSounds like fun... can I have "M"?
ReplyDeleteGotcha down--M's a fine letter :)
DeleteI'll Take K ?
ReplyDeleteAlrighty, Miss Mysterious. K it is.
DeleteOkay, S on the 21st.
ReplyDeleteHow did I know you'd go for S? Stupendous Mr. Steiner :)
DeleteMay I have H on April 9th? Can it be something we've blogged on our own site if it's something we have a special connection to?
ReplyDeleteAbsoulutely. H it is. And you are free to post whatever you wish, long as it's reasonable in length and PG. Those are my only rules for this challenge.
DeleteI'll take W if no one has it already.
ReplyDeleteW for the Win :)
DeleteAwesome! I'm excited about this one!
DeleteFalling into the black hole of unknown possibilities, will I land or keep flying? Okay, my muse suggests "H"
ReplyDeleteLooks like a lot of others got busy posting while I was contemplating the whole situation and "H" has flown the coop -- "G" maybe?
ReplyDeleteThanks for catching that, Judy, and G it is! Grandiose G, just for Judy :)
DeleteQ! I'll definitely take Q if it's still available.
ReplyDeleteOoo, brave woman, taking on Q. You got it!
DeleteIt took me a while to work out what you were planning here (ascribe that to a senior's moment) but this is a great idea.
ReplyDeleteI'm already taking part in the Challenge and so have all 26 letters to myself (mwahahahaha!!!) but I'll be sure to drop by and see what folks are coming up with here.
Heh, I'm sneaky like that :)
DeleteGlad you popped in, Ian. Come back anytime!
hi M, can I have J please.....
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely! J it is.
DeleteHi. As a Vampire geek writer, can I have V please?
ReplyDeleteIan.
Great Idea btw.
Alrighty, V is for Ian's vampires. Works for me :)
Deletehey ya mysti,
ReplyDeleteI'd love to have "T." it's the first initial of my late fiance from Ireland. He has been my muse ever since we met when I was 16! I'd love to do him proud!
Thanks!
Bree
Of course! Aww, what a sweet way to remember him. And I'm sorry for your loss too :(
DeleteOk. Thank you for the V.
ReplyDelete(That's vampires done)
Now, the question; can I have more than one?
I also write Roman/Celts stories, so if I can have more than one, I'd like the C please.
If not, I totally understand, and will only sulk in the corner for a short time.
Ian
As of now, I'm limiting it to one post per author. If I find that we have slots left and it's April 1st, I might let you grab another one. But until then, afraid you'll have to enjoy your brief visit to the corner :(
DeleteThis is such a great idea! I'm looking forward to reading these posts during the challenge :)

Talk about senior moments ... I'm having trouble understanding the instructions but I think it sounds like fun. I already have a blog called "GG's HOPE" - Do I choose my letter and post on this established blog or do I start another one. I'd like April 17th and if given that letter do I I begin posting on that day .. not sure I understand how the letter O fits into the scheme of things. Can you help? I'd love a set of instructions with 1, l2, 3, 4 etc. actions for this old lady. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteGeorgianna
The premise of the Blogging From A to Z April Challenge is to post something on your blog every day in April . Does this mean we post something every day on our blog. How is "our assigned day" any different . Do the posts each day have to be something about the letter of the day? Please help. I'm anxious to participate but want to get it right. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteGeorgianna
I'D LIKE ANY OPEN LETTER PLEASE .... THEY ALL HAVE TREMENDOUS POTENTIAL! THJX
ReplyDeleteGEORGIANA
Ok then, you're on for A (April 1), since I need that one filled poste haste. :)
DeleteLove the idea!
ReplyDeleteI'll take 'B' please
B it is!
DeleteCan I have "L" please? Thank you
ReplyDeleteLuscious L for you, dear.
DeleteI would really love the letter 'P'. Thanks much.
ReplyDeletePositively P for Ey Wade. :)
DeleteI'd like 'F' if possible. This is a cool idea!
ReplyDeleteFantastic F in Tricia's houz! :)
DeleteIs O still open? I'll take it if it is.
ReplyDeleteOstentatious O is yours, Ms. Dixie :)
DeleteHi Mysti! I hope I understand and am doing this right? I'm wanting the letter "D" for April 4rth if that is available? If so, then I'll post my cover for book I for the Dark Seeds Series.:)
ReplyDeleteYes, Delicious D for Ms. Linda. And that will work perfectly. D for Dark Seeds :)
ReplyDeleteHi, Mysti! Great idea with this A-Z blogging adventure. If you have any letters left, I am open at the end of April. :) Have a good day!
ReplyDeleteVery well, I'll give you the letter X, because I bet you can come up with something clever!
DeleteI'll take U, Mysti :) and come up with something...unusual
ReplyDeleteI could possibly also do one for E...on Evil :) Hee hee...
DeleteOk Tara, I'm sticking to one post per author unless I just can't fill em, but I'm intrigued by your U...so Unusual U it is :)
DeleteSounds fine
DeleteI was going to make a "U" of smily faces, but the blogger had other ideas.
Z is for Zeus who throws bolts from the sky.
ReplyDeleteCheats on poor Hera and no one knows why.
Thunderer, sky-god, my topic is you.
I'm from School the Ages, and that's how we do.
-- Matt Posner
Oh, that's just precious. You're on for Z. Great way to wrap it up. With a bang, so to speak ;)
DeleteDeep Breath, I'll take that 'E' off your hands, Mysti. Thanks for your repeated Facebook reminders about this--you gradually chiseled away at my complete and utter fear. Now I'm down to basic fear, which isn't so bad. ;) If the 'E" is taken, you can assign me a different letter.
ReplyDeleteYES!! My annoying tactics are working :) Basic fear is quite manageable. If you can mother seven kids, I'm sure you can handle this!
