Excerpt:
The Vampire as an Erotic Lover
Vampires have always been a metaphor for sex and taboo actions between a human and a monster. This monster is part of our deepest self that seduces us to let our dark side out and to allow the erotic to come through. Whether it was the great Victorian literature piece, Dracula or the violently dark, Varney the Vampire: Feast of Blood, the vampire is the one thing that we know we should not want, but can’t live without - just one bite.
In Dracula, you read about the group sex between the three female vampires and Jonathan Harker as well as the scene with Lucy who is very promiscuous and juggles three male suitors. The scene where she is killed is very erotic and has been likened to gang rape. The image is simply three men taking a stake and penetrating her body violently and continuously.
But, the most erotic scene is when Mina is forced to drink Dracula’s blood from his chest. It is a form of reverse breast feeding that shows Dracula not only as the provider of life but the receiver of pleasure. At this time, the Count is an example of uncontrollable lust that is powerful, aggressive, and primal in nature. He is simply an example of parasitic love and a taboo of that time. However, today the vampire bite and the sharing of blood represent eroticism not violence. The vampire is seen as erotic, sensual, and oh so sexual.
In today’s literature the vampire has evolved to the perfect lover that can give the female everything she desires because they have had centuries of practice to give to only her and her alone. Vampires know what women need and take the time to please them..........
Grab your copy to find out what they do to please women!

Name is Judi Chesley, email is judi@theclayfrog.com. My favorite vampire has always been Lestat. What a great, complex character. The epitome of chaotic neutral. He's not a bad guy - he's an out for himself guy.
ReplyDeleteI liked Lestat too.. Louis whined way too much
DeleteThe book sounds interesting, to say the least. Count Dracula was and still is a fascinating character. Those old movies were so scary.

I sooo agree.. Bela Lugosi and Christopher Lee were great. Also in my book I talk about the books BEFORE Dracula that made Dracula possible.
DeleteI loved Bram Stoker's Dracula too.
This sounds really promising..i would love to get my hands on this book:)For me, Damien is one of the few vampire characters that have the most depth in it in modern literature..

Damon fro The Vampire Diaries. Yes he is hot so if you like him my book mentions other great books and shows that you would like.
DeleteThis book looks awesome...and had to be a lot of work to put together. Kudos, Bertena! :)
ReplyDeleteWow I am with Tara here, what an incredible effort to put together this awesome sounding book. My favorite vampire is usually the big bad meany that has the tender pocket deep within his or herself that ultimately makes their nastiness redeemable. Thank you for sharing with us, I wish you all the best on the release.

I have a shameful attraction to Erik Northman on the True Blood series. He's so bad, but so good, ya know? :)
ReplyDeleteDamon says more with his eyes than all the books in the Library of Congress do in print. My own "Immortal Relations" series has guardian vampires who protect humans from the evil type as well as from human criminals and criminal politicians who wish to enslave the people. I'd love to read your book and hear your thoughts on my series: http://amzn.com/B006ZCBT6G (Book one) and http://amzn.com/B00A4IEHL6 (Book two), the third is in work.
ReplyDeleteDon't forget to leave your email address to enter for the drawing!
